Amy and Steward Oldford’s Nordic Venture ($3, Vince Copeland) kept his stellar run at Harrington Raceway going Wednesday with a 1:56.4 triumph in the $22,000 Open Trot on a track listed as ‘good.’
The 5-year-old Keystone Nordic gelding has 13 starts at Harrington this year with seven wins and six seconds. Trained by Copeland, he set all the fractions in his most recent win, a one length score over Gurf and Spunky Vic. The winner has now banked more than $114,000 in 2010. It was a lifetime best time for 'Nordic'.
Drivers George Dennis and Victor Kirby each had three winners on the program. Thursday is closing night for the 2010 season at Harrington.
