79-year-old Davis Back In Winner's Circle

04/25/2023 5:15 PM -
Long time Delaware driving champ Eddie Davis, now 79, won the 1st race on the Harrington Raceway program Tuesday with Kathy Davis' Missstarofnova ($27.80).
Davis, a winner of 8,635 races lifetime, only drives on a limited basis currently and notched the win with a mare his son Martin trains. The homebred is a daughter of stallion Nova Artist and out of the dam Seamstresforthepan, both of whom the Davis family campaigned. Missstarofnova left the gate from post 7 and eventually settled in 3rd before angling wide in the stretch and getting the lead in the shadow of the wire in a tight photo over Spoiled Rotn Girl. It was her second career win.
In the $15,000 overnight feature, My Kiwi Lady N ($40.80, Tony Morgan) was a 1:53.3 winner over Cruzinforavictory and Divine Deo. Owned and trained by Chris Scicluna, My Kiwi Lady led all the way for a wire-to-wire upset win.
Live racing will continue on a Monday through Wednesday schedule. Post time is 4:30 p.m.
